Our client is seeking a highly skilled BMS Algorithm Engineer to join their engineering team in Houston, TX . This role is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing advanced algorithms for battery systems and Battery Management Systems (BMS). The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of algorithm development, and experience implementing scalable solutions in complex engineering environments. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize safety-related algorithms for battery systems and Battery Management Systems (BMS). Research and apply advanced methodologies to improve battery system performance, reliability, and safety. Collaborate closely with software engineers and data scientists/engineers to integrate algorithms into battery and BMS platforms. Analyze and improve algorithm efficiency to ensure robust and scalable performance. Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept models to evaluate and validate new concepts. Stay current with advancements in algorithm design, battery technologies, and related engineering disciplines. Document design decisions, development processes, testing methodologies, and performance metrics. Partner with cross-functional teams and business units to support product development initiatives. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges related to battery system algorithms. Required Qualifications Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field. Strong foundation in algorithm design, data structures, and computational complexity. Solid understanding of mathematical modeling, optimization methods, and statistical analysis techniques. Experience with large-scale data processing and algorithm optimization. Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills with a proven ability to solve complex technical problems. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams. Creative mindset with a strong attention to detail and continuous improvement. Preferred Qualifications Experience with machine learning frameworks and data-driven modeling techniques.
